A C purlin cold roll forming machine is a specialized industrial equipment used to manufacture C-shaped steel purlins from metal coils (usually galvanized steel, mild steel, or aluminum). The machine continuously bends and shapes the metal strip through a series of roller dies at room temperature — hence the term “cold roll forming.” The final product, C purlins, are widely used as structural supports in roofs, walls, and frames for steel buildings, warehouses, and prefabricated houses.
The process starts with a decoiler that holds a steel coil. The strip goes through an feeding guide, then enters a series of forming stations (roll stands). Each station gradually bends the metal until it reaches the desired C-shaped cross-section. After forming, an automatic flying cutoff saw cuts the purlin to a preset length. Optional components include punching systems (holes for bolts or cables) and PLC controls for automation.
